What is the difference between decentralised and distributed databases?

Distributed means that something is located in multiple places. In the case of a database, it means that the storage the database provides is distributed. In the case of Blockchain-based distributed databases, the data is distributed globally.

Decentralised means that there is no central control. A decentralised distributed database would be one that ran autonomously and globally without a person or organisation controlling it.
